The Lamb's Wool Mohair Sweater

Sizes: Finished Chest: 44”, 46”, 48”

7(7.8) skeins for short sweater -50 gr. balls/110 yds -Mohair - Brushstrokes Mohair

US #8 and # 10 needles or size to obtain correct gauge

Gauge: 14 sts and 18 rows = 4" in ST ST on #10 needle

BACK
With small needles, CO 76, (78,86) sts. Work in K2, P2 for four rows. Change to larger needles and work in St St. until the piece measures 10” (10”, 11”). BO 3 sts at the beginning of next 2 rows. Decrease 1 st at each end of every other row 4 times. 62 (64, 72). Work even until the piece measures 19" (19", 21"). Bind off at the beginning of next 6 rows 6, 6, 7, (7, 7, 6,) (8, 8, 8)sts.  Bind off remaining sts for neck edge.

FRONT
Work front the same as the back until the piece measures 16"(16", 18"). Place the center 18 sts on a holder and work both sides at once. Decrease at the neck edge 1 st every other row 3 times. When piece measures the same length as the back, shape shoulders as for the back.

SLEEVES
With smaller needles, CO 28 (28, 32) sts and K2, P2 for 4 rows. Change to larger needles and work in St st, increasing 1 st
at each end of every 2nd and 4th row 6 times, then every 4th row 6 times. 64 (64, 68) sts. Work even until piece measures 17 ½” (17 ½”, 18 ½”) from the beginning. Bind off 3 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Decrease 1 st each end of the next 16 rows. Bind off remaining sts.

FINISHING
Sew shoulders together. With right side facing and smaller needles, pick up and knit 60 sts around the neck edge. Work a K2, P2 rib for 4 rows, the St st 4 rows. Bind off very loosely. Sew sleeves into armhole. Easing if necessary. Sew underarm seams.
